The project proposes a “scrap landscape” in a community in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico in order to reflect the steel scrap economy at the US-Mexico border: the waste produced, its potential use, politics, and categorization; its environmental impact; health risks to local communities. Furthermore, the project calls attention to the displacement of people at the border due to financial instability and the ongoing war on drugs, which has placed Ciudad Juarez on the list of most dangerous cities in the world multiple times.
